Christmas Traditions in China

Christmas in China is celebrated much the same as it is in the United States. There are some differences that we will show below. One major difference is that not many people celebrate Christmas, except in big cities. Here is how the country celebrates.

Decorations – With Christmas being celebrated only mostly in big cities, they tend to be filled with Christmas trees and lights around the buildings. Many of the decorations are made out of paper.

Traditions – Apples are starting to be given on Christmas Eve as the holiday expands.

Work – Many of the world’s artificial trees are made in China, though it isn’t heavily celebrated.

Santa – Santa is called Shen Dan Lao Ren is China. It means Old Christmas Man.
