Christmas Traditions in the Falkland Islands
Christmas in the Falkland Islands is celebrated much the same as it is in the United States. There are some differences that we will show below. One major difference is that Christmas actually falls in the beginning of their summer season. Here is how the country celebrates.
Decorations – Christmas trees are the decoration of choice.
Food – Lamb is the main meat served at Christmastime.
Christmas Eve – People gather to sing Christmas carols under whale bones on Christmas Eve, surrounding the church.
